Maybe it's hard to believe that the poetry of the Mississippi could revive in Isola del Liri, but stronger are the emotions and sounds that unite these two lands washed by the gentle waters of two rivers so different. Isola del Liri formerly was a land of conquest, by the Romans to the Byzantines and the Lombards, to become part of the county of Sora in the Principality of Capua. The Liri blues became part of the history of this enchanting place that, for many years, is home to one of the most important national festival blues. Names like Albert King, Mr. John, Buddy Guy and Taj Mahal are enchanted with their art the hearts of all those who commute long distance to enjoy the endless magic of this event. The dedication of the various organizations that have succeeded over time have meant that the city was honored by the partnership with New Orleans.
