TEN SIGHTSEEINGS YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN IN TUSCANY

an alternative tour in Tuscany

Every time i talk with someone is visiting Tuscany, I discover that he is always doing the same trips.
Florence, then Sienna, then Leaning Tower, then San Gimignano...or starting from Leaning Tower, then San Gimignano, then Sienna, then Florence and so on...
that's a very boring trip, because you will be watching very beautifull places ok, but also towns very crowded of tourists, gadget sellers, , stealing money services, queue at museums and so on...you will be shooting there the same views you have seen thousands of thousands times on the web...
so let's try to be more original, we can say that Tuscany is much more, much much more...Tuscany is the place in world with the highest percentage of attractions close togheter, the worst cities and towns in Tuscany would be the best attractions in other countries.

Here we list the ten sightseeings that most of foreing tourists have never seen, and that we consider very underrated:

1
) "Monte Altissimo" White Marble Quarries,
a beautifull scenery in the heart of Apuan Alps, with a gourgeous panorama in a very surrealistic place surrounded by very high mountain sides of marble

2) "The Devil Bridge" near Lucca
This is a very incredible bridge, you can find near Lucca, the shape has a beautifull perfection and it is very thin at the top. The bridge is surrounded by a deep forrest, that makes it very misterious.

3)"Giglio Island"
This is a very beautifull trip expecially in late spring and summer, you have to go to Porto S. Stefano (south of Tuscany) and take the boat to Giglio Island. That's a paradise, with the traditional village on the sea and very clear water.

4)Cala Violina
One of the best beaches in Italy, surrounded by the maremma national park. Very nice experience, ten minutes walking to be immerged in a wild and beautifull scenery...

5)San Galgano Abbey with the Montesiepi Chapel
Very great place this one. An old abbey with the ceiling completely destroyed, but the walls in a perfect state. And the chapel with the SWORD IN THE STONE.

6)Sovana
On of the best villages in Tuscany, not more than 50 houses, in the "tufo" land, where everything is done with the local dark brown stone.

7)Castello di Poppi
A nice castle in Casentino. Nice to be there in summer where weather is always mild and never too hot.

8)The Sacred Hermitage of Camaldoli
Few small houses that were built by the monks, in the middle of a very deep and dark forrest in the east side of Tuscany. Very intersting to see both the Hermitage and forrest surrounding.

9)Collodi
The place where Pinocchio is born. It is in Tuscany, and you can visit there a beautifull italian baroque style villa and the tale village, that is also the museum of Collodi.

10)Bagno Vignoni
Well known, but not as much it should, Bagno Vignoni is a unique place: a little village that has instead a square, a very old big swimming pool with very hot weather. Suggested also in winter.
