tuscany tour that pass from Vinci is outside the most touristic routes of the Chianti area and San Gimignano. The hills where Vinci is located are near Florence (about 45 minutes by car) and divide the Arno valley from the Valdinievole valley. Vinci is the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci and is a medieval / renaissance tuscany village situated at the top of a hill of the Montalbano Hills. Here tuscany landscapes, compared to the Chianti ones, are larger and softer and depending on the position there is a view on one of the two neighboring valleys. Vinci offer to visitors the Museo Leonardiano (a museum dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci), inside the castle, the Biblioteca Leonardiana (a library dedicated to Leonardo) and the Museo Ideale di Leonardo da Vinci (a private collection of documents and reconstructions on Leonardo). To arrive in Vinci from Florence, the choice is between two alternatives tuscan itineraries: the faster and the slower (passing through medieval villages and the beautiful hills of Montalbano.
