NOTO

baroque splendor

Noto is one of the most interesting towns of the south-eastern Sicily. The old town was destroyed by an earthquake in 1963, and the actual one was rebuilt in a few years then in the middle of baroque period, and today we can admire the buildings built in this great stage of rebirth.
In the village there are numerous churches and palaces, all built in Baroque style with the light yellow local stone.
Among the buildings is definitely worth visiting the Palace of Villadorata Nicolaci, built by the most important family in the city as a sign of modernity and beauty.
