THE MUSHROOM OF BORGOTARO

A joy for the palate

If you looking mushrooms i.g.p. then you must contact the inhabitants of Borgotaro. This is considered, by most, the capital of porcini mushrooms. It is a place architecturally interesting and is enjoyable to discover across the historic streets. You can visit the Museum the walls of the Val di Taro, this is situated in a corner tower which is part of the preexisting walls. In addition to its artistic beauties, the city is known for its preciousness natural: the porcini mushroom. You image to promenade pleasantly on mountain range of the Apennines in search of famous "Mushroom of Borgotaro". A way for relax himself and to know the nature. This mushroom  is formed by carpophore of four species of the genus Boletus. These species are born in a completely natural way, they born in the copse woods and have the specific characteristics that distinguish them from other types that are in nature.
The four species of this genus are:
-Boletus aestivalis (Paulet) ex Fr
-Boletus pinophilus Pilat
- Boletus aereus Dermek Bulliard ex Fr
-Boletus edulis Bulliard ex fr.

The production of this mushroom has stimulated the creation of a menu full of tempting dishes. We can taste starters, pasta dishes and  delicious seconds courses.
