Siena and San Gimignano, two of the most popular tourist destinations for visitors to Tuscany, are appreciated for their exceptional beauty. Siena and San Gimignano, contrary to Florence, are a dip in the oldest Tuscany, that one of the Middle Ages and the communal age, and it will look amazing how everything there has come down to us remaining totally unchanged. The morning we will visit Siena: a walk through the small town winding lanes, a stop at the magnificent Piazza del Campo, where there is the very famous Palazzo Comunale with the Torre del Mangia and finally a visit to the gothic style Cathedral with polychrome marbles facade. The route between Siena and San Gimignano will be exciting, because it will cross the areas of the Tuscan countryside well known for their incredible beauty all around the world. Once arrived in San Gimignano, we'll visit this little village is unique in the world where, as nowhere else the towers built in the Age of nobility remained unchanged. These towers were quite frequent at that period in other areas, but then after the supremacy of the commons over the noble families were mostly destroyed. As usually defined by the Americans, San Gimignano can be seen as the Manhattan of the High Middle Age. In the evening will end this wonderful tour returning to Florence.
