In Gallurese dialect is called 'Locusàntu' and is located at the foot of 'Monti Juanni', is one of the most popular towns in Gallura, in fact all around the town there are dozens of churches in rural and, more importantly, the presence of the  Minor Basilica of Nostra Signora of Luogosanto dedicated precisely to the Virgin Mary. The church has the privilege of the "Holy Door". The entire town of Luogosanto is rich in historic and protohistoric sites that testify to the antiquity. There is testimony from nuraghic to the late Middle Ages. The country is considered one of the most beautiful and typical of the Gallura. The houses made of granite, the colors of the different facades characterize the entire village.
Not far from the country, the hermitage of San Trano at 410m altitude, dominating the landscape to the north.
The small church was built in the thirteenth century to commemorate the two hermits St. Nicholas and St. Trano, who lived, according to legend, in the little cave that appears behind the small altar. Near the village there is the Filetta Spring, whose waters are very popular and has recently been equipped with lights, yards and steps.
