Among the various festivals of spring that can be traced around our country, particularly interesting is that which takes place in Cocullo, in the province of Aquila, on 1st May. This is the feast of St. Dominic, the traditional name that takes the name of the party serpari. Distinctive feature of the occasion is the fact statue of the saint is adorned by some snakes. The origin of this particular custom is to be found in the fact that the figure of St. Dominic in this cultural context has replaced the goddess Angizia Roman origins, which had the task to protect against snake bites.A real exchange of cultural products, which did not fail to leave traces. Forms of devotion are struggling to change even when there is a renewal of worship and the traces of ancient cults often continue to survive, just because they remain etched in the collective consciousness. Arise so that commingling arouse curiosity because of their striking and apparently inexplicable.

The Medici Month

The show puts on stage the adventures and relationships of the protagonists of the de 'Medici's. The scenario hosting the creative flair of Alessandro Riccio and his company will not be a mere theater but the most evocative areas of the city. The event will start with the itinerant show Mondi in minore in which the tales of four of the children of the Grand Duke Ferdinando I and Christine of Lorraine will be told. A simple sedan chair that will lead them in the most mysterious places of the city. The show goes on with the Regina Nera, a play written by Silvia Frasson; she explores the soul of Catherine de 'Medici, an unscrupulous and bloodthirsty mother. Villa Peyron, in the Fontelucente forest will be the scenario of the play. The opening of the event Il giardino del Re will be a happy digression for the little ones, a trip back in time in wich they will have to discover what is the secret that disturbs the soul of Cosimo I de 'Medici. Finally, Egregio signor padre, the enthusiasm of Grand Prince Ferdinando de 'Medici and your love for the colors and perfumes hidden behind the lustful Venice and its carnival spirit.

Cous Cous Fest 2012

Untitled document The cous cous combines unique reality between all the cultures with different types of this speciality because cous cous is conceived as a mirror of the cultural identities of the participating countries. The background of this wonderful event is the beautiful place of San Vito Lo Capo (TR), a village of eighteenth century, dream scenario between Monaco Monte and crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. From September 20th to 25th the event is to break down the barriers of ignorance respecting the traditions. During these days there are more events like an international competition, or a food and wine tasting of typical cous cous, ready to satisfy every desire. To immerse yourself in the colors that characterize the Mediterranean countries you need only stroll through the streets of 'Expo Village, an eclectic market aimed at the promotion of handicrafts. In every evening a swirl of sounds and melodies, that will take the participants and they will be swept to overwhelm in the Euro-Mediterranean world of music, a to feel all equally different
