The brief video, shot by us, is a document that shows the drying of grapes to prepare Vinsanto.
The grapes of Vinsanto are hung from wooden frames and dried, according to the very old tradition, to produce the famous sweet wine called Vin Santo, typical of Tuscany.
It's very impressive the wonder of the grains of grapes colors, which are affected by bright light daisies, and their coloration changes from deep yellow, orange and dark red.
The video was shot on a farm in Chianti.

Ten sightseeings you have never seen in Tuscany

Every time i talk with someone is visiting Tuscany, I discover that he is always doing the same trips.
Florence, then Sienna, then Leaning Tower, then San Gimignano...or starting from Leaning Tower, then San Gimignano, then Sienna, then Florence and so on...
that's a very boring trip, because you will be watching very beautifull places ok, but also towns very crowded of tourists, gadget sellers, , stealing money services, queue at museums and so on...you will be shooting there the same views you have seen thousands of thousands times on the web...
so let's try to be more original, we can say that Tuscany is much more, much much more...Tuscany is the place in world with the highest percentage of attractions close togheter, the worst cities and towns in Tuscany would be the best attractions in other countries.

Here we list the ten sightseeings that most of foreing tourists have never seen, and that we consider very underrated:

1) "Monte Altissimo" White Marble Quarries,
a beautifull scenery in the heart of Apuan Alps, with a gourgeous panorama in a very surrealistic place surrounded by very high mountain sides of marble

2) "The Devil Bridge" near Lucca
This is a very incredible bridge, you can find near Lucca, the shape has a beautifull perfection and it is very thin at the top. The bridge is surrounded by a deep forrest, that makes it very misterious.

3)"Giglio Island"
This is a very beautifull trip expecially in late spring and summer, you have to go to Porto S. Stefano (south of Tuscany) and take the boat to Giglio Island. That's a paradise, with the traditional village on the sea and very clear water.

4)Cala Violina
One of the best beaches in Italy, surrounded by the maremma national park. Very nice experience, ten minutes walking to be immerged in a wild and beautifull scenery...

5)San Galgano Abbey with the Montesiepi Chapel
Very great place this one. An old abbey with the ceiling completely destroyed, but the walls in a perfect state. And the chapel with the SWORD IN THE STONE.

6)Sovana
On of the best villages in Tuscany, not more than 50 houses, in the "tufo" land, where everything is done with the local dark brown stone.

7)Castello di Poppi
A nice castle in Casentino. Nice to be there in summer where weather is always mild and never too hot.

8)The Sacred Hermitage of Camaldoli
Few small houses that were built by the monks, in the middle of a very deep and dark forrest in the east side of Tuscany. Very intersting to see both the Hermitage and forrest surrounding.

9)Collodi
The place where Pinocchio is born. It is in Tuscany, and you can visit there a beautifull italian baroque style villa and the tale village, that is also the museum of Collodi.

10)Bagno Vignoni
Well known, but not as much it should, Bagno Vignoni is a unique place: a little village that has instead a square, a very old big swimming pool with very hot weather. Suggested also in winter.

The hills where Vinci is located are near Florence (about 45 minutes by car) and divide the Arno valley from the Valdinievole valley. Vinci is the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci and is a medieval / renaissance tuscany village situated at the top of a hill of the Montalbano Hills. Here tuscany landscapes, compared to the Chianti ones, are larger and softer and depending on the position there is a view on one of the two neighboring valleys. Vinci offer to visitors the Museo Leonardiano (a museum dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci), inside the castle, the Biblioteca Leonardiana (a library dedicated to Leonardo) and the Museo Ideale di Leonardo da Vinci (a private collection of documents and reconstructions on Leonardo). To arrive in Vinci from Florence, the choice is between two alternatives tuscan itineraries: the faster and the slower (passing through medieval villages and the beautiful hills of Montalbano. For the first go to the highway Firenze Pisa Livorno and take the exit in Empoli Est, proceed to the Empoli city center and then you'll find signs for Vinci, the trip is about 45 minutes. For the second choice, is a good itinerary the one that pass through Carmignano (knowned for red wines ... a good stop to make a wine tasting), Artimino (a very small and romantic medieval village), Montelupo Fiorentino (knowned for ceramics, with a beautiful dedicated museum) and finally to Vinci. To spend some days in Vinci in not a problem to find hotels, farmhouses and luxury tuscany villas to rent

Untitled document

The word "trulli", from the greek "Tholos" means "dome" and is the distinguishing feature of the cylindrical housing, surmounted by a conical roof, which affect several areas of central and southern Puglia. The place where they determine completely the landscape, making it unique in the world, is the famous Alberobello town, near Bari, founded by the Counts Acquaviva in the fifteenth century. The town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, due to its unique configuration, has an historic center that has a cluster of narrow streets lined by unique homes.
But exactly what is a Trullo?
These structures are extremely simple, made completely dry, without the use of cement, and they end with a conical roof covered with “chiancarelle”, wide and slim stones arranged like tiles on a roof. Over the “chiancarelle”, at the front door, you can see different paintings made with lime. It consists mostly of Christian symbols (radial wafer, pierced heart of Mary, etc..) except for some who are pagan, probably related to magic-religious traditions connected to the influences of Greek culture and even the Egyptian, Assyrian and Babylonian. The farmer placed them on his own home for divine protection against evil. On the top of the trulli are the "cucurnini" or multiform stone pinnacles that have a purely aesthetic function, but according to some scholars, are linked to an ancient cult of stones and the sun.
In Alberobello are concentrated in the two districts called Monti and Aia Piccola, almost a thousand of trulli, creating a really incredible fairytale scenario. The origin of the trulli is actually considered very old, protohistoric indeed, but those of Alberobello are born relatively recently and for a very special situation: the Count Girolamo II Acquaviva d'Aragona, the second of the seventeenth century, ordered the farmers settled in the area to build houses that could be "removed" quickly, making them disappear. The device was fancied by the noble because the authorities of the Kingdom of Naples - who ruled the territories of Puglia - had imposed to the feudal lords the payment of a fee for each building. Acquaviva, who certainly did not want to give up the idea to expand their possessions, forced it to its people to build houses to miraculously disappear when it reached an inspection of the royal guard. The count, said Guercio di Puglia, could not have imagined that, more than three centuries later, the whole world would have admired its spectacular mischief.

houses puglia, trullo rentals, rent apartments puglia, vacation houses puglia, rentals in puglia.

The harvest of grapes

Untitled document

It is ignorant to think that the phase of the harvest of the grapes is the more simple than phase of the production of wine. The viticulture is the stage that precede the harvest; this consists in the employment of techniques related to the cultivation of grapes, those will determine the success of the product. The harvesting doesn’t happens in random periods of the year, in fact they are chosen according to the type of wine producted: for the production of early wines like Pinot, we will proceed in the months of August and September, for most of the wines like Sangiovese we will harvest in the months of September and October. Finally, for late maturing wines like Nebbiolo the ideal period is October- November. In order to understand when the grapes must be cultivated must analyze the relationship between sugars and acids present in the grape, this operation is repeated for several days until, desired balance remains unchanged for several days. This phase is determined by the climatic conditions, from the production area, the type of grape and wine to be produced. The technology development has determined a diversification of the harvest, this can be done manually, for small production wines or for wine of high quality, or mechanically. The mechanical harvest is done with machines that have different dimensions, for a small plot of lands using driving machines that are attached to the tractor while using self-propelled machines for big vineyard. In both the methods the grapes must be dry, in addition we mustn’t harvest during the hot hours of the day because this can initiates fermentation that damages the product. Even the stages of winemaking and preservation are very delicate and crucial for a quality production.

According to the TripAdvisor ranking Barcelona is most dangerous of cities in Europe in 2010. Las Ramblas, the famous promenade of Barcelona and the flea market of the Boqueria are perfect places to be robbed, indeed it is necessary to do attention. Rome is in the second place and Paris conquers the bronze medal. Ville Lumière, always crowded by tourists, is a ideal place if you want to be a victim of a robbery, this happen as well under the metro. Madrid is fourth especially in market El Rastro flea. Completely different the podium if we look for other sites. Moscow wins the first position, Bucharest conquers the second place, then there are Tirana and Nottingham, and Naples? In these internet websites Naples isn’t mentioned; will it be a omission? Is true its rate of danger?! The stereotype that Naples is a city inaccessible to tourists isn’t a acquainted element by those who draw up the classifications.I prefer to think to the kindness and friendliness of the Neapolitans. I think to the their way to make feel at home all the tourists also if they aren’t in the them country. The Neapolitans are true masters in the hospitality. The warmth that characterizes them will makes them unique in Italy and in the world. I think that, for a tourist, feel himself at one's ease is very important. This doesn’t mean that you can carefree walks but definitely you don’t hazard your life in every corner of the city. You must always keep your eyes open, be discrete, to be careful and don’t be deceived.

The outstanding natural beauty of the area, togheter with the rich artistic heritage and the strong folk traditions, allowed the island of Elba to become one of the most coveted and popular destinations among the tourists from all over the world. This has led to a considerable development of the tourism sector although such evolution hasn't affected the purity of the territory.

To reach the island you can first take advantage from Elba Island ferries, most of them starting from Piombino. There are currently four companies, namely Toremar, Moby Lines, Blue Navu and Corsica-Sardinia Ferries, connecting the island to the mainland. Most races are hourly, and generally during the summer races are intensified.

There is also a hydrofoil service suitable for the transport of passengers by hydrofoil Elba with wich can be reached in less than 20 minutes and the landing is a cable, a suburb of Rio Marina.

If you do not want to use the ferry, you can also use the services of the aircraft, Elba in fact has its own airport at Marina di Campo served by numerous connections with most of the Italian and foreign cities.

We had just saying that from a long time, because Rabbit Beach, at least for my experience of traveler, it’s the most beautiful beach I have never seen.

I have seen many beautiful ones, with transparent sea, great scenery, rocks etc., but the feeling I tried watching that clear water the time I stand up on the top of the cliff over that bay I have never tried anymore.
In this article anyways I don’t want to celebrate the beach again, but simply tell you how to get there!...because it’s not that easy how you could expect. The Rabbit Beach is indeed on a little Island called Lampedusa wich is very far from another island (Sicily), and it’s one of the southest lands of Europe, very close to Libic Coast. In Lampedusa practically never rain during the year, and the sun hit always very strongly, during the winter temperature can be around 25° and during summer when arrives hot air from Sahara desert also over 40°.
To get there so it’s pretty complicated but not so impossible and it fully worth the price of tickets we think. There are substantially two ways, one more comfortable, and one more romantic and adventuring.

First solution: just airplane
The first, the comfortable one is to get there directly with the airplane, there is a small airport in Lampedusa to land. Until some year ago there were just few flights from few italian cities, but now for example we can get there directly from Palermo or Catania with Darwin Airlines. You can book also directly from Rome or Milan but it might be pretty expensive. If you are in north Italy the best airport to get to Lampedusa will be Bergamo Orio al Serio.

Second solution: airplane+boat

I’ll show u another solution, I think more long but also more funny, adventuring and also interesting. You can get to Palermo or Catania airport with the airplane, and then take a train there and get to Porto Empedocle, born town of Luigi Pirandello. Porto Empedocle it’s very near to Agrigento and you can see there probably the most beautiful site in the world with original Greek Temples. The railway that will bring you there it’s also so beautiful because has just two tracks and passes in the middle of Sicily, between cactus, ghost towns, dry fields and desert mountains like a sort of “Far West” experience.
When arrived in Porto Empedocle there will be the boat that we will bring you there every night. You can sleep comfortable on the boat and be to Lampedusa at the twilights of the day after.
I strongly suggest this experience!...

If you are interested to rent a house in Lampedusa check also Lampedusa Rentals
